Anguillian Chefs are Toast of the Hamptons

Press Release: ANGUILLA, BRITISH WEST INDIES, Wednesday, 27th July, 2010

Over the July 24 weekend, Anguilla was once again the sole Caribbean destination represented at the prestigious and annual Chef & Champagne event in the Hamptons, Long Island, New York. Anguillian and Caribbean Chef of the year, Glendon Carty of Ripples and Cap Juluca and Chef Dale Carty of Tasty's wowed over 1,000 foodies and honoree Martha Stewart with their delectable Conch Ceviche with Japanese Seaweed and velvety Island Pumpkin Soup. The event featured a sumptuous tasting party with flowing Champagnes, the wines of Wölffer Estate and culinary offerings from a select group of more than 30 fine chefs. Chefs & Champagne® New York is the James Beard Foundation's annual summer gala, and this year honored Martha Stewart.

Martha Stewart’s name is synonymous with style, creativity, and success. Through her magazines, television shows, consumer products, and more, she has created a lifestyle empire that millions look to for advice, guidance, and inspiration. Martha was delighted that  both Chefs came all the way from Anguilla for this event held in her honor.

Chefs & Champagne® New York, the James Beard Foundation's annual summer gala, was sponsored by Plum TV,  with whom Marie Walker, Director, North America, ATB worked with Mark Drucker, VP of Sales & Marketing to exclusively showcase Anguilla as the sole Caribbean Island present. Plum TV is the first and only 24-hour lifestyle network that is the choice of insiders from the worlds of entertainment, fashion, finance, and food. It's designed to help successful people make great choices, and live better lives; from new products and services, to travel and adventure, to philanthropy and the arts.

Anguilla has been the sole Caribbean island featured at the Chef & Champaign function for the last two years. This year's other culinary luminaries included Marcus Samuelsson and Lifestyle maven B. Smith. The success of the promotion is contingent upon the interaction of Anguilla's talented Chefs alongside the Tourist Board with the well heeled visitors of the Hamptons and their continuously growing affinity towards Anguilla as the Holiday of their choice.
