Anguilla Heritage Trail Officially Launched

Press Release: ANGUILLA, BRITISH WEST INDIES, Wednesday, 2nd June, 2010


The much anticipated Anguilla Heritage Trail was officially launched on Tuesday, 1st June 2010, at the historical Pump House in Sandy Ground.

 

Anguilla's Chief Minister and Minister of Finance Mr. Hubert Hughes, officially launched the Heritage Trail at the  Historical Pump House Heritage marker. The plaque was unveiled by Sir Emile Gumbs, former Chief Minister of Anguilla, along with Mrs. Sarah Harrison,  member of the organizing committee and wife of the island's British Governor Mr. Alistair Harrison. They were assisted by National Trust members Mr. Ken Banks and Ms. Lillian Azevedo.

Mrs. Gilda Gumbs Samuel, Executive Director of the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism  Association, and Ms. Merlyn Rogers, acting Director of the Anguilla Tourist Board, are also members of the Heritage Trail Committee.
