Mrs. Sherille Hughes, current President of the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association has been re-elected third Vice President of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association. 

Sherille Hughes, a popular and much loved Anguilla Tourism Official, was re- elected by popular vote at the recent Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association Board of Director's annual general meeting, which was held at the Half Moon Resort in Jamaica in late June 2010.

Sherille, currently the General Manager of Paradise Cove, one of the island's successful and locally owned and managed properties in Anguilla, which was opened by her husband Dr. Franklyn Hughes and herself in 1995. Paradise Cove continues to be one of the island's popular hotels within the industry, and is a favourite to both Travel Agents and Tour Operators alike. 

In addition to managing  the resort, Sherille, has been at the helm of the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association for the past five (5) years as President of the association, and has sat on the board for the past (8) years.

She has been a member of the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association from 1994, and actively supports their conferences and events and initiatives. 

In 2005, Sherille and Dr. Hughes won the prestigious tourism award as Anguilla Hoteliers of the year. Mrs. Gilda Gumbs Samuel, Executive Director of the Anguilla Hotel and Tourism Association, describes Sherille as a true seasoned tourism professional, she continues to describe Sherille, as dedicated and committed to the industry, and has the best intention of the Association at heart. Mrs. Samuel said she has grown tremendously in the past few years under the guidance of Mrs. Hughes, and it is very motivating to know that she can always count on Sherille, to be at the other end of the phone when she has a need to seek her advice and opinion.

The Hotel and Tourism Association, and the Board of Directors, has offered congratulations to Sherille, on her appointment, and said they are all very excited about it and will give her every support

Newly elected president Forstmayr has also appointed the following five regional vice presidents to serve as ambassadors for the organization and assist with the implementation of various objectives:

• Tony Bowen, St Lucia
• Marc Melville, Jamaica
• Bill Clegg, Choice Hotels International
